Movie Night 1:
Freedom: mind, body, spirit
Nagset ng movie marathon ang mga adik, actually nung friday pa to napagplanuhan sa conference. We're watching horror films daw. Huuuwhaaaat?! I'm not a fan of the horror/suspense genre pero masaya naman kasi marami kami. May entrance fee daw, what the?! Kelangan magdala ng food, kahit ano lang. Ahhh ok. So ang meeting place daw sa Synergy around 1pm. Then go to Gale para kumain ng lunch sa Chef D'Angelo then deretso na kanila Ferdie. Eh since nagpuyat ako ng friday night chatting with Jay, ayun tulog ako hanggang alas dos. I called in na hahabol na lang ako. I went out around 8pm na, bumili pako ng pringols pang entrance. 10pm nako nakarating sa Pasig.
I missed 2 movies already. They started around 5pm daw kasi. Filipino time nga naman. First movie was Neverending Story, na napanood ko nung elementary pa ako. Goodluck sa memory gap, pero ok lang at least napanood ko na. Second movie was Kung Pow. Sayang kasi I've never seen it, although pinalabas na yan sa AXN dati, ndi ko nman napanood din. I came around 20 minutes of the third movie which was Mysterious Skin.
Akala ko tong Mysterious Skin, horror film, hindi pala. Rater R ito, merong scenes na although censored, you know what's happening, galing ng sounds effect. Kakatakot na scene ung sa bathtub kung san nirape ung one character ng sadista habang pinupukpok ang ulo nya ng shampoo bottle. Very complicated movie, pero maganda ang twists. Not for the faint hearted, and simple minded. heheh
Merong intermission number in between. Either challenge sa KOF 2002, or time to go to the toilet, or mag-ayos ng bots, or nood ng episodes from Little Britain.
Next movie is The Thing. The setting is in Antarctica in an American Science base of some sort. 20minutes later, a husky transforms into an alien lifeform na mapapatay lang pag sinunog. Una lalamunin ka ng alien tapos pde ka nya gayahin after full assimilation. The suspense part is that no one knows who is an alien, until one by one naubos silang lahat except for two. Sira na ang base, wala naring oxygen and heater. Final scene sees the two survivors sitting near the burning base.

Last movie eh suggestion ko. Hairspray! Weeee. Syempre musical to kaya mataas dapat ang energy level. Many nice songs in the movie, kabisado nga ata nila Kip at Nico lahat ng songs. Pwera lang ung sa mga blacks, may racism factor? Maganda yung message ng film na we don't need to conform with the norms of beauty in order to break free and express yourself. Wow, deep-deepan ang drama?

Movie Night 2:
Fears: the undone, the unknown, the unseen, the unexplained
Day two of our coverage of movie madness. Martes santong martes santo eh andun kami para manood ng suspense films. I stayed kanila Ferdie kaya sila Nico and Kip na lang talaga ang inaantay namin. They came around 4pm with food na. Since may araw pa, ung intense movies daw eh paglumatag na ang karimlan. Muntik pa mauto si Ferdie na i-off ung araw, ano yan parang explosms lng na pde i-magnifying glass pabalik?
First up is Misery starring Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes and James Caan as Paul Sheldon. Nakakatuwa dito si Annie dahil sa shifting moods nya, first bait-baitan, then galit na galit, biglang inlababu kay Paul, tapos killer mode. Wait for the hobbling scene sa movie, ouch! Suspense part kung pano pinlano ni Paul tumakas.
Next up is Juno starring Ellen Page as Juno. Akala ko nung una eh jologistang movie lang to sa kacheapan ng effects na parang hand drawn lang, saka ung background music na I'm sure ookraying lang ni Simon Cowell kasi naman eh parang recorded lang sa kwarto. Pero i really love Diablo Cody, ang ganda ng script nya, you need to have a wide range of materials to get into some of the conversations in the film. THE THUNDERCATS ARE GO!!!
Third movie is The Eye, Thai version daw. Suspense na nman, pero eto eh kumagat na ang dilim, dim the lights ang drama. Dami gulat factor pero andali naman masubaybayan ang story, kaiingay ng kasama ko kaya nakakapick up ako sa story kagad. Nagulat ako dun sa may calligraphy lesson nya, ung tumalon ung ghost dun sa bida kasi nakaupo sya sa upuan nito, possessive lang masyado ha. Nagtatawanan kami sa scene sa resto, ung dinilaan nung ghost ung food nya. Kainin mo pa yan? Eeeewww lang ha.
The last movie talagan kakatuwa, The Shining featuring Jack Nicholson as Jack and Shelley Duvall as Wendy, with Danny phantom something ung bata as Danny rin or Doc. Well si Doc merong shining daw kaya he can link telepathically sa ibang may shining. Nakakatakot ung hotel na tinuluyan nila kasi they have to stay until spring in May dun, so tatlo lang sila. Andaming weird things happening around the hotel, one room has an naked old lady na nagdedecompose na, merong mga mascot na nagboblowjob ng guy dun, merong ballroom na napupuno ng ghost pag gabi, at ung blood flood sa may elevator area. Highlight of the film ung scene na winawarning ni Doc si Wendy, sinasabi nya "redrum, redrum" repeat to fade tapos isinulat sa door. Saka palang narealize ni Wendy nung nakita ungreflection sa mirror. So hinahabol sila ni Jack with an axe, kakasuspense ung sa bath scene, nachop na ung door sabay sabing "Here's Johnny!" Meron pa talaga habulan sa labyrinth after ng blizzard. I'm happy at survivor sila, ok lang machop ung black. hahah
